NeuroCatch® Incorporated
Last updated: March 21, 2023
At NeuroCatch Inc. (“NeuroCatch”) we know that our data-driven approach to innovation is served by being transparent about how we use data, including personal data and non-personal data. To that end, we have prepared and published this data statement.
This Data Statement is Not about Personal Data This Data Statement explains how we use data that is not personal data (i.e., data that is not associated with any identifiable individual). If you want to understand how we collect, use and disclose personal data, please see the following:
- Personal Data we Control – We collect personal data through our website and business operations. Our practices regarding this personal data are described in our Privacy Policy. We also have a cookie policy, which is linked at the bottom of our website ( https://www.neurocatch.com ).
- Personal Data Your Health Care Provider Controls – We provide hardware, software and services (collectively called the “NeuroCatch Platform”) to healthcare providers (including various individuals and organizations involved in healthcare). In doing so, we process personal data about patients, the healthcare provider and the healthcare provider’s staff on the healthcare provider’s behalf and following their instructions. If you have questions or concerns about how your healthcare provider handles your personal data using the NeuroCatch Platform, you should contact your healthcare provider.
How the NeuroCatch Platform Collects Neurological Data The NeuroCatch Platform can be used to collect brain vital signs and other data about brain function and brain health and then to subsequently analyse that data alone and in the aggregate (all of that data is collectively called the “Neurological Data”). More data about the science on Neurological Data is available on our website ( https://www.neurocatch.com ). Neurological Data is not like a fingerprint—it is a snapshot of you neurological functions at the point in time when it is collected. It cannot be used to identify you the way a fingerprint could. As Neurological Data is not personal data, privacy legislation does not apply to it and it is not covered by our Privacy Policy. Nonetheless, we want to be transparent that we may collect Neurological Data anytime you use the NeuroCatch Platform, whether you are a healthcare provider, patient or otherwise. We may also collect other non-personal data through the NeuroCatch Platform, such as age, medical diagnosis and prognosis, in all cases in a way that cannot be used to identify you. We consider this data to form part of the Neurological Data.
How We Use Neurological Data We use Neurological Data for a number of purposes, primarily for research and development to improve our understanding of brain health and to improve the NeuroCatch Platform and develop new products.
When We Share Neurological Data We may share Neurological Data with any third party. In particular, we may share Neurological Data with other users of the NeuroCatch Platform, researchers who work with us, our service providers, law enforcement and where otherwise require by law.
How We Protect Neurological Data We strive to maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to safeguard the Neurological Data collected by the NeuroCatch Platform. However, no data system can be 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. We also take steps to prevent personal data from being included in the Neurological Data. If we ever suspect that personal data has been included in the Neurological Data, we will remove it, such as by deleting it or anonymizing it. We will also investigate how it occurred and take steps to prevent it from happening in the future. If you have reason to believe that the NeuroCatch Platform or Neurological Data is being abused or otherwise have concerns, please contact us at [email protected]
